$270 – 90 minute relationship session
Do you accept insurance? What if you're not in-network?
For individuals: I take private pay, Medicaid (CO Access regions 3 & 5), Cigna, Kaiser, United, & Aetna.
For relationships: I only take private pay.
If you have a different insurance company than those listed above, I can provide you with a monthly Superbill you can submit to your insurance provider for possible session reimbursement. I cannot guarantee your insurance provider will cover out-of-network (OON) services. Please call your insurance to check-in on what your plan’s OON coverage for mental health services are and their specific process for you submitting Superbills for reimbursements.
Generally, insurance companies require you to have a mental health diagnosis to reimburse for counseling services. If you would like to use Superbills, we will need to see if you meet the criteria for a diagnosis. I usually take several sessions to get to know you before I diagnose (unless you have a previous active diagnosis). I see diagnosis as a collaborative process and will be in communication with you about this. You will need to be able and willing to pay out-of-pocket for our first few sessions, as we determine if you meet the criteria for a diagnosis. Please note that sessions you have prior to receiving a diagnosis will not be reimbursed by insurance.
How frequently should I come to therapy?
For new clients, I suggest meeting weekly for the first 8 weeks so we can get to know each other and build momentum in our therapeutic work. After this, we can have a conversation about continuing weekly or going to bi-weekly sessions.
Should I come to therapy for 60 or 90 minutes?
I usually recommend individuals come for 60 minute sessions. If you would like to do EMDR, it can be helpful to have 90 minute sessions in later phases of our work.
If you are a seeking couple or CNM / polyamorous relationship counseling I highly recommend starting with 90 minute sessions for the first 6 weeks as this allows more time and space for all people to talk. After 6 weeks, we can discuss whether trying 60 minute sessions may be appropriate.
If you are seeking polyamorous relationship counseling where 3 or more partners will be present during sessions, sessions will need to be 90 minutes.
Do you work with Complex-PTSD and PTSD from childhood?
Yes. Childhood trauma is an umbrella term that can include experiences of complex-PTSD (C-PTSD) as well as PTSD that formed in childhood. Some people who experienced childhood trauma meet the diagnostic criteria for C-PTSD or PTSD, but some do not. I like to use the term ‘childhood trauma’ because it encompasses the experiences of C-PTSD & PTSD as well as traumatic experiences that impact people deeply throughout life but don’t necessarily get included in these diagnosis (i.e. experiences of neglect, abandonment, rejection, not feeling seen, loved, understood, etc.).
Whatever happened to you, and however you refer to it (i.e. childhood trauma, C-PTSD, PTSD, attachment wounds, developmental trauma, relational trauma, etc.) your experience is valid and welcome here.
Is your practice LGBTQIA+ affirming?
Yes! As a member of the queer community myself, I care deeply about creating a therapeutic space where all of your identities are welcomed, honored, validated, & celebrated.
These are a few ways I make my practice a LGBTQIA+ affirming space:
- I ask & use your name & pronouns
- I work to understand your unique experience & do not make assumptions based on my experience or others
- I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your identities & relationships & be celebrated in them
- My office building has all gender single stall bathrooms.
Does your office have all gender / gender neutral bathrooms?
Yes! There are all gender single stall bathrooms at my office.
Which populations do you work with?
I work with adults who are processing childhood trauma, attachment trauma, complex trauma, developmental trauma, C-PTSD, PTSD, depression, anxiety, & shame. I also offer couple, polyamorous, and LGBTQIA+ relationship counseling.
Due to being in in a solo private practice, I do not have the capacity to offer crisis counseling. I do not offer substance and addiction counseling services, domestic violence counseling, or clients struggling with bipolar disorders.
Do you offer crisis services?
I do not not offer crisis mental health services.
