About Me

I'm Rose Winkler (she / they), MA LPCC
I’m a warm, kind, & creative human. Some of my favorite things are my daily yoga & mindfulness practice, gardening, & trail running. I’m often reading multiple books at the same time and being a lifelong learner is an important part of my identity. Small details in nature make me smile. I admire everything from textures of mosses, reflections in dew drops, and how ice crystallizes around plants – this is my jam.
As a counselor, I work with adults who have experienced childhood trauma and are ready to process and explore how these early life experiences impact themselves, their lives, and relationships. Having my own experience in this realm gives me deep compassion for fellow humans in this population. Walking my own healing path gives me hope that things can feel better and the way you carry the past can shift.
I also work with couples, polyamorous, and LGBTQIA+ relationships. I focus on supporting folks in learning more effective patterns of communication and processing past traumas that are impacting their current connection(s). Trauma can create so much disconnection, and in contrast secure, healthy, and loving relationships can often lead to healing. Helping people cultivate connections that feel secure and healing is one of my greatest joys as a counselor.
I’m eclectic in my approach to counseling. I draw from somatic & mindfulness-based approaches, parts work, EMDR, and attachment-based therapies. I love empowering my clients with knowledge and skills to help on their healing journey in and beyond the therapy room. I have a collaborative approach to counseling. I will work with you to find tools that resonate for you.
I view counseling through a social justice lens and acknowledge our social identities, and how our culture views those identities, impact our lived experience. I am in the queer community and welcome working with others in this population. I am a trans-affirming, gender-affirming, & sexuality-affirming therapist, and am committed to offering sex-positive and social justice-informed therapy.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, I spent years as a wilderness instructor / outdoor educator. I bring my previous experience working with groups, teaching communication, listening, and conflict resolution skills to my work as a counselor. I hold a masters degree in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Mindfulness-Based Counseling from Naropa University. I am trained in EMDR Therapy from The Maiberger Institute and hold a 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training certificate.
